In my rear view mirror, I could see my daughter, in her car seat, her body
just squiggling with 4 year old excitement.
She clutched with both hands a
huge piece of paper, almost larger than her.
She, rapid fire, shared her plan, her little legs kicked as fast as she spoke. She could not wait to get home.
This crayola masterpiece was a special gift for daddy.
I helped her out of her car seat, both hands still clutching her special gift, as she jumped down from the van. Her foot landed on her paper, in less than a second, her paper ripped in two. Silence, it seemed like
time stood still, we both just looked at her prized coloring…… I was trying to decide how to best deal with her disappointment.
And there is was….she looked up, grinning wider from ear to ear….
And said….. “Look Mommy, I have two pictures to give daddy, he is going to be so
happy!”
Out of the mouth of babes, it really is ALL about your perspective!
I learned a great lesson that day. Choosing to look for a fresh perspective is huge. Facing menacing challenges can wear you down. A fresh perspective, can give renewed hope and energy. If you are struggling
to find a fresh perspective, take a walk, get some fresh air, ask a friend out
for coffee.
A fresh perspective makes a world of difference.
